Captain Lance Ewers
Captain Lance Ewers is the owner and Operator of Sitka Paladin Tours. He is a US Marine Corps Veteran and retired Police Officer who has spent the vast majority of his life activities in, on, and around the water. Born and raised in the town of Ringwood, New Jersey on Cupsaw Lake, Lance graduated from Lakeland Regional High School in 1993. Shortly after, he joined the USMC, where he honorably served as an 0331 Infantryman Machine Gunner, Riverine Assault Craft Coxswain, and U.S. Embassy Guard in locations such as Paris, France, Tanzania Africa, and Ascension Paraguay, from 1993 to 1998.
After completing his military service, he graduated from the Montana State Police Academy in 1999 and embarked on an impressive law enforcement career that spanned 26 years, during which he served as a Deputy Sheriff, Alaska State Trooper, and Sitka Police Officer. Throughout his tenure, Lance supervised the Flathead Lake Boat Patrol unit, taught critical wilderness survival skills, managed the volunteer Search and Rescue unit, graduated from the prestigious FBI National Academy class 267, and held the position of lead firearms instructor for the entire State of Alaska.
Lance’s greatest accomplishment and that of which he is most proud of is his family. Together, his wife Becky and he have five children. Bailey, Jayla, Tayler, Colton, and Bristol.
